Meropi Choreftaki

Biography

I am a Psychologist with postgraduate studies in Child and Adolescent Psychology, and I work in the UK National Health Service (NHS) as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, supporting adults who experience anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, low mood, depression, stress, and self esteem difficulties.

My therapeutic approach is based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and is adapted to the unique needs of each person. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic relationship, where empathy, respect, and evidence based practice form the foundation of every session.

I have gained clinical experience both within the NHS and in specialised psychiatric and community mental health services in the United Kingdom. Before my work in the NHS, I worked as an Assistant Psychologist in a specialist psychiatric rehabilitation clinic in London, supporting people with different mental health needs and actively contributing to their therapeutic care as part of a multidisciplinary team. I have also worked in educational settings, supporting children and adolescents with special educational needs and neurodevelopmental difficulties.

I believe therapy offers a safe space where each person can explore their difficulties, understand themselves better, and develop practical ways of managing everyday challenges. My aim is to help people build greater psychological flexibility, confidence, and quality of life.
